From the Tech-Simplified Desk of Rucheli:
Welcome back to Systeme.io Sundays, friend! 👋
I've missed showing up in your inbox with these tech-simplified goodies! If you're wondering where I've been, the Jewish High Holiday season had me offline and deep in family time (and ALL the holiday cooking) for most of October. But I'm back and energized to help make your tech life simpler!
Today I'm pulling back the curtain on something I get asked about ALL the time – my actual course creation process. Spoiler alert: it's embarrassingly simple compared to what most "experts" tell you to do, and yet my courses have still generated multiple six figures.
🔍 TLDR for this issue:
My ridiculously simple course creation process (just 3 steps!)
How to set up Twilio for Systeme.io's brand new SMS feature
LAST CALL for Simple Systems Society at the current rate (40% increase coming Nov 1st!)
Next week: The great content dripping debate
Let's simplify!
Picture this: You're sitting at your desk, surrounded by notes about "proper" course creation. Your tabs are open to articles about the perfect lighting setup, which $300 microphone to buy, what video editing software is best, and 17 different ways to structure your modules.
Meanwhile, your actual course content – the stuff your clients desperately need – is nowhere near ready.
Sound familiar?
Here's a little secret that the "course creation experts" don't want you to know: Your clients care WAY more about your helpful content than whether you filmed it with a $2,000 camera setup.
When I first started creating courses, I thought I needed:
Professional lighting
A fancy mic
Video editing skills
Fancy animations
Perfectly scripted lessons
Multiple takes of everything
You know what happened? I spent more time researching equipment than actually CREATING the dang course.
Then one day, facing a tight deadline for my first program launch (back in my career coach days!), I decided to just... simplify. And that "simplified" process has now generated multiple six figures in course sales across multiple businesses.
Ready for my embarrassingly simple process?
Step 1: Make slides on Canva (I use my own 60-slide templates from our Complete Course Creators Template Bundle - hundreds of essential Course Creation templates on sale for just $97!)
Step 2: Record straight in Canva using their built-in recording feature (literally just click the "record" button and talk through your slides: Canva recording instructions here)
Step 3: Export the Canva deck + recordings as an mp4 and upload directly into Systeme.io's built-in video hosting for each lesson
THAT'S IT. No fancy equipment. No complex editing. No 17 different tech tools.

The best part? My students get results. Because instead of spending 80% of my time on production value, I spend 80% of my time making sure the actual content is helpful, clear, and actionable.
And with Systeme.io handling all the tech behind the scenes (hosting, delivery, student tracking), I can focus on teaching instead of troubleshooting.
This is exactly why our Simple Systems Society members love their simplified tech stack – they spend time serving clients instead of fighting with complicated tools. (And yes, that's a subtle reminder that SSS enrollment closes soon at the current rate – more on that below!)
The Systeme.io team just dropped an amazing new feature: SMS messaging capabilities in workflows and automations! 🎉I’ve been waiting for this for a LONG time, so we’ll spend the next few weeks talking about it here 😍
This means you can now text your audience directly from Systeme.io – perfect for:
Course start reminders
Workshop notifications
Live call alerts
Payment reminders
Quick check-ins
This is a game-changer for engagement, and we're going to break down the setup over the next few newsletters. Today is Part 1: Setting up your Twilio account.
Quick Setup Steps:
Create a Twilio account
Purchase a phone number within Twilio (about $1/month)
Locate your Account SID and Auth Token (you'll need these for Systeme.io)
I've created a step-by-step tutorial on YouTube showing exactly how to set this up:
Next week, we'll cover how to integrate Twilio with Systeme.io and set up your first SMS automations!

And speaking of the Society... this is your LAST CHANCE to join at the current rate before our price increases by 40% on November 1st! All the tech support, implementation sessions, and business strategy you need for less than those Lululemon leggings in your shopping cart. Just saying... 😉 Join us here before the price goes up!
🧠 Tech Simplification Challenge
This week, I challenge you to audit your current course creation process:
List every step in your process
List every tool you use
For each step/tool, ask: "Is this absolutely necessary to deliver value to my students or is it just another way I’m procrastinating my launch?"
I bet you'll find at least 2-3 steps you can eliminate completely!
Next week, we'll be tackling the great course content debate: Dripping vs. Full Access. Should you release all your content at once or space it out? There are pros and cons to each approach that most experts don't tell you!
Question for you: What's the most time-consuming part of your current course creation process? Leave a comment below and let me know – I read every email!
